Emotional Balance Is Essential For Healthy Living

Emotional balance is considered mastered when our mind, body and spirit are in line with each other and we are in a space where we have done our inner work and we feel at peace. We need to pay attention that all situations and life issues are resolved, or at least aired, and pay attention to the feelings that emerge from within us.

Many times our emotional balance is ignored and passed off as stress, discomfort, boredom and distraction; and we try and fix it by all sorts of ways that really just don’t work. Some of those fix-it methods are eating, eating comfort foods, shopping, sex, gambling, drinking, over working, and the list can go one, and we never get to the core of why we just can’t feel better.

Emotional balance is as important as any other health aspect and some times even more, as it can accelerate our other health issues, in fact it can actually be the cause of other health issues. It is one of the most important aspects to the whole body balance.

When you are out of balance it creates stress and conflict in your relationships; and that is all of your relationships, which include family, employment, road rage, marital, friendships and right down to the shopping clerk. So you can see how emotional balance is as important as physical health, in fact even more so as it effects your physical health. You truly can’t improve your physical health with out balancing your emotional.

A regular spiritual practice can greatly assist in centering you and maintaining clarity about those aspects of your life, which are truly important. This can be any kind of spiritual practice including yoga, meditation, qi gong, prayer, EFT; it is something good to practice on a daily basis and preferably in the morning and the evening. Feng sui is great for peace and tranquility in the home and work space, as with the proper placement of objects and de-clutter, it creates a calm soothing energy in your space.

If you feel your emotional balance is off, improving your diet is one positive step you can take, your mind, body and spirit can work much closer together if your food intake is in balance, that means eliminating items such as caffeine, sugar, processed foods, soda, alcohol, cigarettes and eating whole, organic foods.

Work on creating a positive outlook and attitude on life, always look for the good in everything and start being grateful, especially when you feel there isn’t anything to be grateful for; you can always find something. When you do this it shifts your energy into balance. You will feel lighter, brighter and much more healthy.

Substance Abuse Treatment: A Well Rounded Approach To Recovery

Many substance abuse drug rehabs and mental health treatment programs are beginning to recognize that addressing mind, body, and spirit in their treatment programs provides clients with a well-rounded and comprehensive protocol for sobriety and recovery. Very few treatment facilities have incorporated a philosophy that incorporates all four of these principles simultaneously. However, in order to adopt a true holistic philosophy and address the client’s healing in the fullest spectrum of an addict’s life, the substance abuse treatment protocol must be taken a step further than what is traditionally offered by treatment facilities to include the client’s environment and the environment in general.

When clients are taught to heal the environment around them as part of their therapeutic recovery process while in a residential setting, they have the opportunity to practice raising their consciousness. By this, they help to heal themselves in a mindful and purposeful way. In addition, using a treatment methodology that utilizes intensive small group therapy, individual psycho-therapy sessions, and treatment plans and clinical protocol that integrates mind, body, spirit, and environment often yields a significantly higher success rate for clients who experience substance abuse as well as psycho-emotional disorders.

To understand how the process of mind, body, spirit, and environment works, it is imperative to understand the basics behind each of these methodologies. Healing the mind incorporates group and individual therapies, written and reading assignments, as well as study. Healing the body includes a comprehensive physical fitness program of exercise that is designed for each individual client to address his or her specific fitness deficiencies. Healing the spirit encompasses assisting each client to reconnect with their “self” and adopt and practice a spiritual exercise which could include: meditation, Yoga, Tai Chi, or some other spiritual practice which best suits the client’s specific orientation. Healing the environment promotes an understanding and consciousness of proactively healing the client’s personal living environment as well as becoming aware of the global environment in general.

Although many drug abuse and psycho-emotional treatment programs incorporate mind, body, and spirit, they lack the fully holistic approach which includes the environment. The purpose of including the environment in the total healing philosophy and process, particularly for drug and alcohol abuse clients and those suffering from depression and other emotional problems, is for the client to understand that by healing one’s own environment and building a consciousness of caring for and healing the planet they help to heal themselves.

By incorporating the environment into the healing process, treatment facilities are able to assist their clients in elevating their thinking to a heightened awareness. This is beneficial because scholars in the medical and psychiatric fields have concluded that as an individual’s thinking changes, the behavior will change by itself, since thinking produces behavior.

Another important aspect that mind, body, spirit, and environment substance abuse treatments support is changing a clients thinking by utilizing therapeutic programming which is achieved by using indirective and metaphorical techniques. The best therapeutic result is usually achieved when a client is brought to his or her own conclusions. Rather than employing a directive and controlling approach that may produce a defensive attitude by the client and hamper the change process, the indirective and metaphorical techniques allow the client to come to his or her own conclusion. This yields a more productive therapeutic result, not only in the clients’ behaviors but also in their thinking, sobriety, and recovery. Since this is the philosophy that mind, body, spirit, and environment is based on, these treatment facilities are able to provide clients with a well-rounded approach to recovery.

Although many treatment facilities have incorporated a philosophy that incorporates mind, body, and spirit simultaneously; in order to adopt a true holistic philosophy and address the client’s healing in the fullest spectrum of an addicts life, the substance abuse treatment protocol must be taken a step further than what is traditionally offered by treatment facilities to include the client’s environment and the environment in general. Clients that are taught to heal the environment around them as part of their therapeutic recovery process while in a residential setting have the opportunity to practice raising their consciousness and have a greater chance at successful recovery.

Self Help – Mind Body Spirit Information That Will Challenge The Way You View Life!

Regardless of personal viewpoint about spirituality, many have wondered what would have happened if Saddam Hussein hadn’t been stopped when he first invaded Kuwait back in the early nineties? Well, this story explores that scenario to its surprising conclusion and then reinvents the scene time and again in a sequence similar to ‘Groundhog Day’ but in a self help mind, body, spirit theme. The result is a story that has led many readers to question their concept of so-called reality!

I initially believed I was writing a fictional story about angel ET benefactors influencing our world. But when I completed the first book, The Blue Star Millennium, found on http://www.1-inspirational-quote-book.com , many readers were convinced that the depicted world events had actually happened, even though recorded history shows a different outcome. That’s when the concept of an alternative reality suddenly gelled into the possibility that world events could change depending on the will of the masses.

As far as I was concerned, I was simply writing an inspirational mind, body, spirit story about angel extraterrestrial intervention, but I didn’t know where the story was going until it unfolded before me … and I have to admit, I was surprised at some of the content.

The story largely centered on the Gulf War and the changing of events under the influence of a benevolent, angelic race of Beings in the form of extraterrestrial benefactors. The central character in these books is an angel who integrates with human society under the watchful influence of his mentor, the White Star.

Many who have read these esoteric books have queried whether the White Star is real … and if so, did he help change world events in keeping with the will of the masses – the ones currently inhabiting our world … You and me? From that angle, did he also influence my writing in a more spiritual slant?

To be honest, I don’t know!

If he did, I am grateful that he shared this metaphysical knowledge, but a little confused why he would choose me. I’m just an ordinary guy who grew up on the rougher side of town with few privileges, and new age spirituality was not part of my upbringing. I’ve had my share of knocks that life tends to deal out to all those who walk this earth. However, I’ve also had my share of unusual (for want of a better term) experiences … but I’m getting off the track here.

If we take this concept of ET extraterrestrial angels to its logical conclusion, are we not all such Beings? After-all, we are simply visiting this planet for a short while to experience our individual lessons and then we depart so how can we say that we are of this planet? We simply inhabit a body here temporarily so that we can function in this world.

So, whether these metaphysics philosophy books are influenced by extraterrestrial angels, or resulted from my own tapping into the higher consciousness that is the source of us all … what is the difference? The result is equally fascinating and the concepts that these self improvement stories present will challenge your view of life as you know it.

How To Change Perception, Thinking And Behavior

Many addictive and psycho-emotional behaviors are a result of psychological, physical, spiritual, and environmental issues in regard to the individual, and can be successfully treated utilizing a variety of clinical techniques combined with alternative methods. In some cases, medication management may be indicated and can be a helpful adjunct to the therapeutic process. Client success can also be improved if the client’s belief system embraces holistic healing methods.

Rather than employing a directive and controlling approach that may produce a defensive attitude by the client and hamper the change process, indirective and metaphorical techniques allow the client to come to his/her own conclusion. This yields a more productive therapeutic result, not only in the clients’ thinking, but in their behaviors, sobriety and recovery as well.

Below are a list of 15 steps to change perception, thinking and behavior:

1.Begin to open your mind to new concepts.
2.Question, rather than just accept what is being told.
3.Admit to new possibilities.
4.Acknowledge that not everything is either black and white.
5.Understand that what one may believe to be true may just be someone else’s truth.
6.Adopt new ways of viewing one’s own specific situation.
7.Recognize that people behave in the way that they think.
8.Explore philosophies and theories that may help to change the way one perceives.
9.Realize that what works for one may not work for all.
10.Show willingness to recognize a change in perception when it occurs.
11.Seek spiritual enlightenment and understanding.
12.Gain acceptance that the Mind, Body, Spirit, and Environment are all connected.
13.Gain acceptance that we all have an impact on one another and the environment and that in seeking healing for yourself, you are helping another.
14.Become aware of your impact/input on your immediate environment and the global environment.
15.Continually practice building awareness by reviewing your perceptions, thinking and behaviors.

Teaching clients to change their perceptions utilizing the Perception Therapy and Mind-Body-Spirit-Environment approaches, addiction and emotional relapses do not have to occur or get in the way of recovery. People can live happy, healthy, and productive lives without living in fear that they will turn to dysfunctional thinking and behaviors at any moment. The occurrence of relapse is only a perception, not a reality. Anyone has the ability to change their perception, thinking, behavior and reality.
